The Essence lip liners comes in about 8 shades and all the shades are truly gorgeous.
These lip liners look exactly like the Essence kajal pencils. These are small, wooden pencils containing 1 gm of product and doesn’t have any kind of fancy packaging. The pencils are of the same color as the lipliner shade which makes them easy to find. The silver colored plastic cap fits in tightly and these tiny pencils are perfectly travel friendly.
The shades being reviewed here is 04 Honey Bun and 08 Red Blush. Honey Bun is already a favourite among a lot of beauty bloggers because it is a wearable, everyday shade. It is a mauve shade with pink undertones while Red Blush is a beautiful reddish pink shade.
If you doubt whether an RM 5 lipliner is actually going to work, this product will get you completely blown off by it’s quality. These lip liners are highly pigmented and true to color. The color payoff is excellent and you get the same shade in the swatch, on your lips too.
The texture of the lip liner is very smooth, velvety and creamy. It glides on easily without much effort and doesn’t feel heavy on lips.
The finish is matte, slightly satiny and gives a great base for lipsticks. It can even be worn on its own topped by a clear lipgloss.
It doesn’t cause the lips to dry off. The lipliner sets within a few minutes of application and is smudge proof as claimed. It doesn’t get transferred to your coffee mugs !!
The staying power is average and need to be reapplied like every 3-4 hours. The lipliner leaves behind a tint even though it fades away after some time.
The one con of this lipliner is that it is too soft and creamy and the lid tends to crumble during sharpening and application just like their kajal pencils. This can be avoided by placing the pencils in freezer for 5-10 mins before usage.
- Soft, velvety texture.
- Glides on easily.
- Great pigmentation.
- Product wastage during sharpening.
- Lid gets crumbled during application.
My Rating : 8.5/10
The Essence lipliners are a steal for it’s price, I recommend all the shades.
Have you used these lipliners??
